I still consider slot machines to be a new
game. Yet, the first three-reel slot machine was invented in 1898 in San
Francisco by Charles August Fey. The machine he invented was called
"Liberty Bell" and it used hearts, diamonds, spades, horseshoes

this original slot machine.) Fey was a smart lad. He split profits with
gaming houses 50/50. It didn't take long fer slots to become illegal. But
Fey remained vigilant and kept making the machines. In the (19)30's and
40's, his machines caught on in popularity. It was one of the first games
Ben "Bugsy" (don't call him that) Siegel added to his Las Vegas
Flamingo hotel. Today there are a myriad of slot machines available and
online slots are increasing in popularity since it is the easiest game to
